Gift Shopping Tips For Tight Budget
Have you seen the prices of greeting cards lately? It is hideous! Once you purchase the card and gift-wrap, your overall cost can easily increase by $10 to $15. If you are on a tight budget, this can be difficult as you spend more on the fluff and less on the actual gift. Not only are greeting cards expensive, their sizes often overwhelm small gifts, which make the overall presentation, looking goofy and unbalanced. Basically, you really don’t need to spend on expensive greeting cards to make an impression.
We all have this perception that greeting cards are the perfect match to gift giving. Although true, there are cost effective ways that can help you spend more on gifts and less on greeting cards. For instance, packaged blank cards are the best way to go as you pay less per card then individually. The other advantage of blank cards is that they are not specific to an occasion and can be used for anything. You should always have a pack handy and ready to use, as you never know when you will need to buy someone a last minute gift or card.
Choosing the right card can be time consuming. As the overall look of your gift is very important, you must consider size when choosing your card. The safest way is to choose a small size gift card, as it will fit to any size gift. In my opinion, the Groovy-0-Grams mini cards are the best to use as they fit perfectly on any size gift and they are very affordable. For the price of one greeting card, you get six per pack and you can use the mini cards for six different occasions. Now that’s a bargain! Not only are they affordable, the mini cards are really fun to use as they focus on different personalities rather then occasions. They also promote positive self- esteem, which is a gift in itself.
Being prepared in advance with a pack of mini cards will save you time and money. And, when those last minute gift frenzies strike, you will spend more on your gift and less on the fluff. Happy gift shopping!

Love To Shop? Has It Turned Into a Shopping Addiction
There are those among us that truly enjoy shopping and there are those that find it to be the most terrible thing on a to do list. For a person that has an addiction to shopping, it isn’t either one of those things. It is something that they have to do.
They shop because it gives them a sense of euphoria and they shop like there is no tomorrow.
A person addicted to shopping, shops because they absolutely believe that shopping will make them feel better. The shop compulsively and spend excessive amounts of money.
They do this without control, and much like the alcoholic hides the vodka in the closet, the shopoholic hides what they buy. They are afraid of getting caught.
Here are a few warning signs of a shopping addiction. Are you shopping or spending because you feel angry, anxious, lonely or depressed? Are you arguing with those that you love about your shopping habits? Do you feel lost if you don’t have your credit cards?
Do you purchase on credit instead of using cash?
Do you get a high when you are shopping?
Do you feel guilty or embarrassed after you have gone on a shopping trip?
Do you lie about how much money you spent?
Do you obsessively think about money?
Do you spend a lot of time “robbing Peter to pay Paul” to cover your shopping sprees?
If you answered yes to four or more of these, you should talk to someone about possibly being addicted to shopping. If you are consistently spending over budget, buying things that you do not have a true need for you need to get help.
Understand that an addiction to shopping is just as serious as drug addiction and alcohol addiction. The consequences are just as serious, including loss of job, relationships, home, everything that you have.

A quick internet search of shopping addictions will also offer you a nice list of support groups and places that can help you break your addiction. Remember the only way to break an addiction is to want to break it. If you are motivated to change your behavior you will be able to change it.

pros and cons of Christmas shopping online

pros and cons of Christmas shopping online
I recently discovered the world of online shopping. I could not find a product I wanted in Canada so I went online and low and behold there it was. So I ordered it and it arrived a few days later by the post lady. Since it was electronics I thought there was no more to pay. Well if she wasn’t blonde and pretty I would have argued about the taxes I had to pay. Dumb me the taxes were our sales tax and goods and services tax. Oh well, I paid and got my product and I’m happy.
So then I told some friends about my shopping spree and they stated , oh my you have to give out your credit information and personal information. So I tried to explain encryption to one of my friends and stated it was secure unless a good hacker wanted my pennies. He gave me a funny look and I said you don’t know what i’m talking about, and its the same as if I asked you about installing a carburetor. He said whats a carburetor.
Well we laughed and as the conversations continued he started having interest as to what I was saying. I’m not a computer guru so we got down to shopping which he loves to do.
I explained the ins and outs of the process and he said well it sounds great. After explaining that it is great as when its snows you don’t have to leave your house , not even to pick it up. It comes to your door. Well he was thrilled at the idea.
We both agreed on the thought of online shopping, but what about those decorations in the store, the music, those little dolls that kids press and make them sing. We might miss them. As well as all the people we might meet as we pushed and shoved our way through the aisles on our way to the check out.
Well that struck a note of fear in our eyes and both again agreed, lets shop online and wait for the after Christmas sales to arrive when we can shop at leisure for that particular item we forgot, and then go and sit down at home and have a favorite beverage and go back to the computer to enjoy those decorations that the websites forgot to change.
I guess online or in person shopping has its advantages and disadvantages. I prefer my computer chair.
